Pic of the Day – Sea King Training

HMS Illustrious is currently operating off the south coast of England, engaged in training for her forthcoming deployment. This afternoon she was joined by 3 Sea King helicopters from 848 Naval Air Squadron, part of the Commando Helicopter Force based at RNAS Yeovilton. The aircraft are onboard for the next two weeks carrying out training for the benefit of both the squadron and for the ship. As well as recovering the Sea Kings, the ship also had Flag Officer Sea Training Staff embarking on Dauphin helicopters. They have been invited onboard HMS Illustrious by the Commanding Officer to assess his Ship’s Company.
