Pic of the Day – Howitzer Training

Smoke rolls out of an expended artillery round as Sgt. Flint Elsik extracts the shell from a Howitzer during a live fire training exercise, Aug. 24. Paratroopers assigned to B Battery, 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, conducted defensive live fire exercises during the Brigade’s week-long field training exercise in preparation for a Joint Readiness Training Center rotation in October. As part of America’s Global Response Force, the Paratroopers of the 82nd Abn. Div. consistently train to be prepared to conduct any type of mission anywhere in the world on short notice.
