Preserving A Symbol of Just Retribution – Part 1

Part 1Part 2

A “shout out” to my reader Chad McRae who pointed me to the website for the USS Cavalla, a Gato class US Navy submarine launched in 1943. On 19 June 1944, this submarine sank the Imperial Japanese Navy carrier Shōkaku, just retribution for the carrier’s participation in the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. The submarine was saved from the breakers yard by volunteers and is now a museum submarine in Galveston, TX.
