U-Boat Bases and Bunkers: Hamburg: After the war, the British detonated a stockpile of German Luftwaffe bombs in October 1945 within the Fink II U-Boat Bunker shattering the walls and roof. In 1949, the city of Hamburg decided to clear the site and contracted the job to Dyckerhoff & Widmann AG who helped build U-Boat Bunkers during the war.
