The PBY Catalina: Catalinas were used for commercial flights during World War Two with Qantas flights flown weekly from June 1943 through July 1945 from Perth, Australia non-stop to Colombo, Sri Lanka carrying up to 1000 lbs of passengers, military supplies, and diplomatic mail. The flight took anywhere from 28-32 hours and was done in radio silence.
