U-8’s commander was injured West of the Orkneys

On 4 June, 1940, U-8’s commander was injured West of the Orkneys and the U-Boat headed for Denmark. He was handed over at sea and then put ashore on 5 June 1940 and taken to a Danish hospital while U-8 returned to Kiel.
