The USS Constitution and the USCG Eagle are the only two sailing ships still on active service in the US armed forces. The USS Constitution (Old Ironsides) which made her name in the War of 1812, is undergoing a three year refit. She is the world’s oldest commissioned warship afloat and is still crewed by the US Navy just as she was when launched in the early 1800s.
